As the seasons shift and the crisp air of autumn settles in, your skin begins to feel the change too.
Autumn is the perfect time to reset your skin after summer and prepare it for the colder months ahead. Think of this season as your skin’s repair phase—where we focus on restoring hydration, strengthening the skin's barrier, and targeting any summer damage.
After months of sun exposure, your skin may be dealing with dehydration, dryness, uneven skintone or pigmentation that is a little more prominent. We often plagued with more congestion from SPF use and sweat buildup. Our skin barrier is often weakened and as humidity drops, your skin loses moisture more easily, making it essential to adjust your routine and treatments accordingly.
With a few adjustments in our homecare routine and our in clinic treatments we can give our skin the support it needs during the changing seasons.
Consider switching to gentle, hydrating cleansers to avoid stripping your skin or creamy or gel cleansers that cleanse while maintaining hydration. Boosting hydration by incorporate serums rich in hyaluronic acid and nourishing ingredients to replenish moisture levels. Repairing the skin's barrier by introducing ceramides and peptides to strengthen and protect your skin. Even though the temperature have dropped we still need to use our daily SPF. UV rays are still present still present. Daily SPF remains non-negotiable. Autumn is ideal for reintroducing actives like mild exfoliants or vitamin A, as sun exposure is reduced.
As the temperatures cool and we find ourselves spending a bit more time indoors we can take advantage of this time to invest in professional treatments that repair and rejuvenate the skin. Some of our favourites including dermaplaning to gently removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz, allowing for better product absorption and a smoother, brighter complexion. Chemical peels are perfect for addressing pigmentation, uneven texture, and dullness after summer and also encourage skin renewal to reveal fresh, glowing skin in the safety of the cooler temperatures. Another top choice is microneedling to stimulates collagen production, improves skin texture, and helps with fine lines, scarring, and overall skin rejuvenation. Using the popular Korean approach to deeply restore hydrate, heal, and strengthen the skin barrier—ideal for seasonal transition is the Korean ReGen Facial or 'Glass Skin' Facial. And to boost each treatment with LED Light Therapy to calm inflammation, boosts healing, and supports overall skin health is a fabulous add on as skin becomes more sensitive in cooler weather.
With reduced sun exposure, your skin can safely undergo corrective treatments, with minimal risk of pigmentation or sensitivity. It's the perfect opportunity to be proactive and focus on long-term skin goals before the new summer months.
